Hi there online!
Now we can work together on this platform, but this will be just as good a game as the material of every lesson so far!
Open your workbook to Step VI, that is, the tasks on pages 16-17!
Our material:
I. Review:
Do you remember that in previous lessons we talked about what kind of learning style everyone represents? Where do you belong?
II. Our new topic
Good student? Bad student? STUDENT
The central question: What is a good student like, and what is a bad student like? Let’s talk about it!
If you ask me, I’d say we all know there’s no “good student” and “bad student”, there is only STUDENT! Whoever learns will be successful, they are the student, because they work on their tasks. Whoever doesn’t learn doesn’t reach their goals, because they don’t put in the necessary work.
And we are STUDENTS, meaning we take steps toward our goals, we consciously build up our tasks, our future, as the playful tasks below also show!
THE STUDENT
I ask you to read the text on pages 16-17! The solution to task 2 is hiding right there in the text, you just need a little idea to come up with good answers.
Task to solve, then: page 17/task 2
Underline with a red pencil the characteristics that you think belong to the bad student. Then in green underline the ones that you think are characteristics of the good student! You learned about verbal and non-verbal expressions in grammar class this year, but to make sure you understand the task, let me remind you:
– verbal (spoken) markers, for example: words, phrases, sentences that the student uses,
– non-verbal (non-spoken) markers, for example metacommunicative tools: posture, stress, intonation, facial expressions, gaze, gestures.
Task: Fill in the table on page 17 based on the underlined red and green data! We will check it at the beginning of our next lesson.
Don’t have the Playful Stepping Stones workbook? Now, as an exception, you can download the relevant tasks.
I wish you happy playing and learning!
